The Microbiology Society is pleased to announce that registration and abstract submission for Annual Conference 2018 are now open. The event takes place between Tuesday 10 April and Friday 13 April 2018 at the ICC in Birmingham, and the programme promises to be packed with the latest research and presentations from the microbiology community.

You can read more about Annual Conference 2018 on its dedicated webpage, which provides information on:

  • How to register
  • The programme and topics that the event will cover
  • How best to submit an abstract to be in with the chance of giving an offered talk slot or poster
  • This year’s poster prizes and awards
  • Useful details on travelling to Birmingham and places to stay during your visit
  • Things to do in Birmingham

After attracting a record number of delegates this year’s conference, the Society has introduced a closing date for registration for the 2018 event, which will be Monday 19 March 2018. This is to avoid overcrowding at our conference and to ensure we have enough space within our lecture theatres.

Please note that if we reach capacity for any of the conference days prior to the closing date we will be required to close registration for those particular days. We therefore advise you to secure your place at the conference before booking your travel and accommodation to avoid disappointment.

Key dates for the diary:

Abstract deadline: Monday 11 December 2017
Grants deadline: Wednesday 31 January 2018
Early bird registration ends: Friday 9 March 2018
Closing date for registration: Monday 19 March 2018
