Policy

We are committed to ensuring that the science and skills of microbiology are suitably represented throughout education systems in the UK. By collaborating with other bodies, we actively support all aspects of science education policy affecting ages four to 18.

We respond to education consultations in collaboration with other learned societies through the Royal Society of Biology and Science Community Representing Education (SCORE). We feel that this strategic collaboration strengthens our influence. Copies of submitted responses that are available and have been made public can be found via the SCORE website.

As determined by the Microbiology Society Council and the Communications Committee and Policy Committee, and with valuable input from members, we work with other learned societies, charities and government bodies to advance our education policy work in support of microbiology.

If you are interested in any aspect of science policy in UK schools or colleges, please contact our Education Team.
