Antibiotic Action

Antibiotic Action

The Microbiology Society strongly supports this global initiative, which focuses attention on the need to develop new antimicrobial therapies in the face of increasing antimicrobial resistance. Microbiology research has a key role to play in this global challenge. Antibiotic Action is a global initiative established by the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy.

The Antibiotic Action campaign has created a petition to back the campaign and draw attention to its aims.

The more signatures on the petition, the more powerful it will become. In addition to the Society's institutional support, we therefore urge all those in sympathy with the campaign's aims to sign the petition personally.

Antibiotic Action also wants to hear from ‘Champions’ who can network with colleagues, family and friends to promote the initiative and secure signatures.

Please visit Antibiotic Action's website to sign up online for the petition and find out more about becoming a Champion.

Antibiotic Action is a global initiative, launched November 2011, established by the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (BSAC). We have serious concerns regarding the future effectiveness of currently available antibiotics and the lack of antibiotic agents in the drug pipeline.
