Society elections – use your right to vote

25 May 2017

Voting elections

The ballot for the 2017 Microbiology Society elections will open on 2 June, with candidates standing for positions on Council, on committees and on Divisions. It’s important that you use your vote – those you elect will act as your representatives, guiding the Society’s activities in furtherance of its Mission: Advancing the understanding and impact of microbiology by connecting and empowering communities worldwide.

This year, the Electoral Reform Services (ERS) are administering the voting process. Society Members should receive an email from the ERS on 2 June containing login details to a secure online portal where they will be able to cast their vote. The portal will also have information on all candidates standing for election.

If this email hasn’t arrived by 17:00 on 2 June, please check your junk folders and spam filters in case it has been inappropriately categorised. Members who receive postal voting details should receive their papers by Wednesday 7 June.

If you do not receive your voting details by the expected date,  please contact the ERS directly on 0208 889 9203, or via email on [email protected]

Full, Full Concessionary, Postgraduate Student and Honorary Members are eligible to vote in the elections to Council, Committees and Divisions. Members of the Early Career Microbiologists’ (ECM) Forum are eligible to vote in the elections to the ECM Forum Executive Committee. Members associated with criteria for both can vote in both elections.
