Publishing at AC2017

Did you know that the Microbiology Society publishes six peer-reviewed journals, and that we reinvest our publishing profits back into the Society’s work, such as next month's Annual Conference 2017?

Throughout the Society’s Annual Conference, you can meet Editors and staff from MicrobiologyJournal of General VirologyJournal of Medical MicrobiologyJMM Case ReportsMicrobial Genomics and International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology. The Society’s journals are widely recognised as established, high-quality publications in the field, and whether your research sits within microbial ecology, clinical microbiology, virology, or an emerging field like biotech or genomics, we have a journal suitable for you.

Look out for the following publishing-related events taking place at the Annual Conference.

On Monday 3 April at 19:00, visit the Microbiology Society’s stand, where Journal of General Virology’s Editor-in-Chief Mark Harris and Deputy Editor-in-Chief Paul Duprex will be discussing publishing with the Microbiology Society. Come along to hear all about the journals – questions from the audience will be welcome.

For those interested in learning how to write and review scientific manuscripts, don’t forget to book your place on our two professional development sessions on scientific publishing. Taking place on Tuesday 4 April, Journal of Medical Microbiology’s incoming co-Editors-in-Chief Norman Fry and Kalai Mathee will be leading sessions on ‘How to write a manuscript for submission’ and ‘How to review scientific manuscripts’.

The Society’s journals will also be sponsoring a number of poster presentation prizes. Look out for our Editors who will be judging the posters throughout the week.

Book for the Annual Conference by Thursday 16 March to receive early bird discounts on registration rates. If you would like to find out more about the Microbiology Society’s journals, don’t forget to visit the Society’s stand or go to our journals homepage.
