Career Conference Grants

These grants offer Undergraduate Student Members a contribution towards the cost of travel to the Royal Society of Biology Bioscience Careers Festival.

The Bioscience Careers Festival is aimed primarily at undergraduates and recent graduates. To find out more about this event please see the Royal Society of Biology website.

The application form will be made available in June 2017.

Please read all information on this page carefully before submitting an application:


Applicants must be Undergraduate Student Members who are in their penultimate or final year of study at the time of the Bioscience Careers Festival, and who have not received a Career Conference Grant previously.

What is covered by the grant

Grants will contribute a maximum of £50 towards travel expenses.

Terms and conditions

Retrospective applications will not be considered.

Grants are awarded at the discretion of the Society.

Applicants who do not attend the proposed conference will be required to repay the grant in full.

A brief report must be provided within three months of the event.

All claims must be made within three months of the event and substantiated by receipts or copies of invoices or other documents as appropriate.

By accepting a grant, recipients give their approval for the Society to use this and related information in publicity and marketing communications.

Application process

Applications should be made on the form available on this page and submitted before the advertised closing date.

Grants will be awarded on a first come first served basis up to a set budget.

Administration of awards

Awarded funds will be paid to the applicant’s nominated account by bank transfer within one month of an award claim being made.

Applicants are responsible for their own conference registration.
